Workshops
All prospective new members will be invited to attend up to two monthly meetings
before they apply for membership if they wish to have a look at us before
committing themselves. Or they may choose to apply immediately. All applicants
must be nominated by two financial members.

The initial Application for Membership will be for Associate Membership
(non-clowning). This gives them full voting rights, access to the Club Library and
they will receive the Club Newsletter.
If the Associate Member wishes to become an Ordinary Member (an Active Clown)
then they are required to:

* Apply for a Blue Card: (If they have a Blue Card Then they must complete an
"Authorisation to confirm a valid Blue Card".) This can be done in conjunction with
the President, Vice President or Secretary.

* Make themselves familiar with Coastal Caring Clowns Inc.'s Procedural Manual
which includes Ethics Statement; Guidelines for Hospital Visits; Guidelines for
Nursing Home Visits; Risk Management Strategy and CCC By-Laws.

* Undergo an Orientation Session where the above documents will be further
explained including implications for breaches.

* Attend a meeting in full costume and make-up to have the character and the
proposed Clown Name approved. (This is also required of a clown member who
wishes to develop a different/alternate character.)

After the valid, current Blue Card information is lodged with the Secretary, AND all
of the above are successfully completed the Associate Member will apply for
Ordinary Membership.
Once accepted, the new Ordinary Member will be formally notified and welcomed as
a new Clown; be given an "L" plate and a "CCC badge".

All of the above must be completed before the new Ordinary Member can be
allowed to go on clowning visits as a Coastal Caring Clown. They will clown under
the supervision of an experienced clown until they are graduated out of the Learner
category.
