PROFILE

I was born in 1961 in Creswick, Victoria. I attended school in Ballarat. I met my husband
John very early in my life and we married in 1979. It was a big year for us, John joined the
army and our son James was born. John was in the army for 14 years and we had 3 moves;
Melbourne, Wagga Wagga and Wodonga. I started working at Dollar Curtains and Blinds in
1985. In 1992 John got out of the army and we bought the Wagga Wagga Dollar Curtains &
Blinds franchise. We had that business for 14 years. In 2006 we moved to Woombye; our
son had moved to Palmwoods, we came to visit and fell in love with the area. James married
Heulwen in 2005 and they now have 2 beautiful children; Cameron born April 2009 and Sofia
born January 2011.

In 2007 we purchased Bright Eyes store in Caloundra and I still work there 4 days a week. I
have been volunteering at Nambour Hospital since we first moved here; I found I was
looking for something more rewarding to do with my spare time. I think I have found it. What
a wonderful group of people I have joined. I love being a clown and of course my name -
Pinky.
