Australia Day Parade 2009

The Australia Day Parade at Buderim
was a great success.
The Coastal Caring Clowns Inc. won the
prize for “The Best Walking Group” and
as a result we received $200 to add to
the war chest. Eleven members turned
out to be part of the action, so
congratulations and a big “Thank You”
to all who participated.

Clowning Around

In June, Twaddles visited the ABC
Coast radio station to get the clowns on
air.

Clowns at School

March 2009 brought a visit to Peregian Beach Community College.
Twaddles, Flutter-bye, Naughty Norman and Happy Heart attended the
school having been invited to give a talk and demonstration to two
classes who were doing a project on The Circus.

The children has lots of fun trying on clowns wigs, noses and clothing
and being taught a few basic tricks. A good time was had by all and
the school made a donation of over $60 to the Coastal Caring Clowns
Inc. by way of thanking us for our efforts.

Although this was not the usual Coastal Caring Clowns Inc. activity it
was nonetheless rewarding and interesting to all.
Photo Shoot

The clowns visited Starshots at Maroochydore
and had a series of photos taken.
A Magical Session

On Monday 20 July 2009 the Coastal Caring Clowns Incorporated held their
usual monthly meeting at Sid Lyngard Drive, Buderim, except there was
nothing "usual" about this meeting!
Our special guest on this occasion was Brad Manuel - Comic Magician. Brad is
renowned for involving his audience in his magical comedy routines and is a
much sought after corporate entertainer in Australia as well as in several
international markets and the CCC were very fortunate to have him come
along and teach us a few of his tricks as well as entertain us.

He has a very relaxed and casual persona which makes the "amazing stuff"
he does even more amazing. Things like pulling FULL shot glasses out of his
shoes and somehow getting people to drink them, setting his wallet on fire
and of course his hilarious springy rabbit! Brad designs most of his own tricks
and certainly gave us clowns a few ideas of our own. Brad is a local lad living
on the Sunshine Coast and has been a professional comedic magician for over
13 years.

He has a web site http://www.bradmanuel.com.au where you will find video
clips of his performances as well as merchandise.

The meeting was well attended by current clowns, prospective clowns and
friends of clowns who were just interested and I know from the feedback
after the meeting and from messages I have received today that Brad Manuel
was a hit with us all
.
Australia Day Parade 2010

The Australia Day Parade at Buderim
was once again a great success, with
The Coastal Caring Clowns Inc.
taking second prize and as a result
we received $250 to add to the war
chest.

Thirteen members turned out to be
part of the action. The heat on
Australia Day this year was
unbearable so an extra big "Thank
You" to those dedicated clowns who
helped make the day such a success
for our organisation by turning up
and marching along happily in such
fierce temperatures!

There was very little monetary cost
involved in making "Bamboo" but
there were many hours spent by
several members to get it all
finalised. It was a magnificent effort
and as you can see it achieved
wonderful results, so a sincere
"Thank You" to all who contributed in
any way.
