Regis Lakeside Residential Care Home visit On Thursday 30 September 2010 we made our annual visit to Regis Lakeside Residential Care Home in Sippy Downs. A total of 8 clowns attended the venue - 6 of them Learner Clowns and what a wonderful time they all had. The Diversional Therapist (Dianne Guider) lead the clowns around the home whilst they brought their special blend of joy and happiness to all patients both low care and those with dementia. We even visited one resident who was blind and so we sang "You are my sunshine" and he happily joined in with us. It felt very much like a photo shoot for all the clowns as the Diversional Therapist took photos at every opportunity. You can see one of the residents here surrounded by Abbeygale, Charlie, Flossy-Pot, Flutter-Bye, Giggles, Powder Puff, Rosie and Singalong, one of the many shots taken throughout the morning. It was the first time Giggles had appeared with the clowns and I know it has enthused him to do more as he, along with the rest of us, felt it very rewarding. |
