I was born in Melbourne 'a few years ago' now and I qualified in Biophysics & Psychology at Swinburne Uni of Technology. I then worked for a number of years in three EEG Departments, measuring the brain waves of people (criminals, disabled, geriatric and 'normal' ) all of whom probably wondering if I could read their thoughts - which I couldn't and reassured them of such !
I came to Qld for a holiday and loved the weather and relaxed lifestyle, returning twelve months later to live. I worked in a shelter for Homeless Teenagers where sadly, there were never enough beds for those needing them. This work was peppered with cooking in a seafood restaurant at night time on the weekends. I then moved onto Accounting and HR work for my (now) husband, Rob and I have been helping him in his Commercial Legal practice for over 25 years trying to keep the figures out of mischief and the staff balanced.
During this time we were also blessed with the arrival of our lovely son Nick, now 22yrs old and well on his way in life and who is currently studying Medicine at Qld Uni. I am also a member of the Tewantin/Noosa Parkinsons Support Group and help them out with their activities and meetings. After my family, some of my great passions include reading, anything medical, animals, travelling and learning about different cultures.
I have always greatly respected the work of Patch Adams and so when the CCC placed an ad in the paper asking for new clowns, I jumped at the opportunity to join. I love trying to make people happy and to laugh with me and the famous saying that 'Laughter is the best Medicine', together with a heart-felt smile, are two of the greatest gifts you can give anyone.
Here's to the great team of clowns who had the foresight, dedication and energy to both establish CCC and ensure their perpetuation, for they have given everyone the best opportunity of continuing the laughter and happiness.
