ROCCO Member since August 2001
I knew, that humor and laughter are the tools to reach out to the residents at a aged care facility I worked as Diversional Therapist. It was then that I became aware that a clowning workshop has been organised on the Coast and so I went for a ‘look’. The silliness that happened at that workshop was so amazing. The fun and clown bug got me and I became a Coastal Caring Clowns member.
As the Coastal Caring Clowns group grew, so did my clowning. Visits to aged care homes, hospitals and community events did show me, again and again ‘Humor is the Best Medicine’. With music, singing and silly actions we create a clown world were the residents or patients can join in and be in the moment of happiness.
To be Rocco the Clown is never boring, full of surprises and gives me the chance to share laughter with residents and patients. People I would otherwise never have had the privilege to meet.
